1/2 cup KRAFT Zesty Italian Dressing
1 cup finely chopped onion s
1 cup finely chopped green pepper s
1 cup chopped fresh cilantro leaves
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped

Combine all ingredients. Refrigerate 2 to 3 days or until ready to use. Freeze for longer storage.

Make Ahead
This sofrito sauce can be frozen for later use. Place 2 Tbsp. sofrito sauce in each cube of an ice cube tray. Wrap filled tray with foil or freezer wrap. Once frozen, remove sofrito cubes and place in freezer bag for prolonged storage up to 1 year. Makes 16 cubes. Frozen sofrito cubes can be used in recipes without thawing.
Food Facts
Traditional Sofrito always has tomatoes or tomato sauce added to it. The trick is to add the desired tomato ingredient during cooking to avoid an acid reaction with the fresh ingredients.
