Pasta with peas and a creamy, cheesy sauce is always a hit—and this one serves eight in under a half hour.
What You Need
Original recipe yields 8 servings
1 Tbsp. butter
1 small onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 can (14.5 oz.) fat-free reduced-sodium chicken broth
1/8 tsp. crushed red pepper
1 pkg. (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Neufchatel Cheese, cubed, softened
1 lb. penne pasta, uncooked
1 cup frozen peas
1/2 cup KRAFT Grated Parmesan Cheese, divided
6 slices OSCAR MAYER Deli Fresh Smoked Ham, chopped

Let's Make It
Melt butter in medium saucepan on medium heat. Add onions and garlic; cook and stir 3 to 5 min. or until fragrant. Add broth and crushed pepper; bring to boil. Whisk in Neufchatel; cook and stir on low heat until Neufchatel is melted and sauce is well blended.
Cook pasta as directed on package just until al dente. Meanwhile, stir peas and 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese into sauce; cook 2 to 3 min. or until slightly thickened.
Drain pasta. Place in large serving bowl. Add sauce; toss to coat. Top with ham and remaining Parmesan.
Serve with fresh fruit and a side salad to round out the meal.
Serve with a cold glass of prepared CRYSTAL LIGHT Iced Tea Drink.
Prepare using whole wheat or multi-grain penne pasta.
