Original recipe yields 16 servings
1 pkg. (2-layer size) yellow cake mix
2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. ground ginger
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
2 pkg. (3.4 oz. each) JELL-O Butterscotch Flavor Instant Pudding
1/3 cup sugar
2 cups cold milk
1 cup water
2 Granny Smith apples, peeled, finely chopped

Heat oven to 350°F.

Mix dry cake mix and spices, then use to prepare cake batter as directed on package; pour into 13x9-inch baking dish sprayed with cooking spray.

Beat dry pudding mixes, sugar, milk and water in medium bowl with whisk 2 min. Stir in apples; spoon evenly over batter. Place dish on rimmed baking sheet.

Bake 1 hour 10 min. to 1 hour 15 min. or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool slightly. (Sauce will thicken slightly as it cools.)
