These herbed Parmesan appetizers are made by baking a cheesy spread into flattened, rolled-up white bread. But they look impressive and they taste divine!

Original recipe yields 18 servings
1 tub (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Chive & Onion Cream Cheese Spread, softened
1/2 cup KRAFT Grated Parmesan Cheese, divided
1 Tbsp. chopped fresh basil
1 egg yolk
12 slices white bread, crusts removed
3 Tbsp. butter or margarine, melted

Heat oven to 400°F.

Mix cream cheese spread, 1/4 cup Parmesan, basil and egg yolk with wire whisk until well blended.

Flatten each bread slice with rolling pin. Spread 1 side of each slice with 1 rounded Tbsp. cream cheese mixture. Starting at short end, roll up tightly. Brush each roll with butter; roll in remaining Parmesan. Slice each roll into 3 pieces.

Place pieces, seam-sides down, on greased baking sheet. Bake 12 to 15 min. or until edges are lightly browned. Serve immediately.
