Apples and onions are a classic accompaniment to pork chops. In this recipe, we've added some wine, thyme and balsamic vinaigrette for added flavor.
What You Need
Original recipe yields 4 servings
2 tsp. oil
4 boneless pork chop s (1 lb.), 1/2 inch thick
2 small apple s, halved, cored, thinly sliced (about 1-1/4 cups)
1 small onion, cut lengthwise in half, then cut crosswise into thin slices
1/2 tsp. chopped fresh thyme
1/4 cup KRAFT Balsamic Vinaigrette Dressing
1/4 cup dry white wine

Let's Make It
Heat oil in large skillet on medium heat. Add chops; cook 3 to 4 min. on each side or until done (145°F). Transfer chops to plate, reserving drippings in skillet; cover chops to keep warm.
Add apples, onions, thyme and dressing to drippings; cook and stir 1 min. Cover; cook 4 min., stirring occasionally. Stir in wine. Return chops to skillet; cook 1 min. or until sauce is thickened.
Serve chops topped with sauce.
There are lots of delicious varieties of apples, but not all are ideal for cooking. Try using firmer red apples that will hold their shape when cooked, such as Fuji, Gala or Cortland apples.
Substitute apple cider, beer or chicken broth for the wine.
Prepare using 1/4 tsp. dried thyme leaves.
