When preparing mashed potatoes for a holiday dinner, the potato mashing usually occurs at the most hectic moment: during turkey carving, gravy making and the dishing up of all the other foods. To avoid the last-minute potato rush, mash the potatoes 15 to 20 min. ahead of time. Then just spoon into a casserole dish, cover and place in a 250ºF-oven to keep warm until serving time.
Prepare using 1/2 tsp. garlic powder.
