Maple-Dijon Nuts

This is what we call gilding the lily! Pecan halves are tossed with sweet and spicy ingredients to make a crowd-pleasing nut bowl.

4 cups PLANTERS Pecan Halves
1/4 cup maple-flavored or pancake syrup
1/4 cup GREY POUPON Dijon Mustard
2 Tbsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. ground red pepper (cayenne)

Heat oven to 400°F.

Spread nuts evenly onto bottom of foil-covered rimmed baking sheet.

Bake 6 min. or until lightly toasted. Meanwhile, mix syrup and mustard until blended.

Pour syrup mixture over nuts; stir to evenly coat. Bake 8 to 10 min. or until syrup mixture is cooked off, stirring after 5 min.

Mix sugar and red pepper until blended; sprinkle over nuts. Stir. Cool completely.
