1 pkg. (2-layer size) yellow cake mix
1 cup applesauce
4 cups mixed dried fruit, chopped
1/4 cup flour
1 pkg. (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
1/4 cup butter, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup chopped PLANTERS Pecans

Heat oven to 275ºF.
Mix eggs, cake mix and applesauce in large bowl until blended. Combine fruit and flour; stir into cake mixture. Pour into 2 (9x5-inch) loaf pans sprayed with cooking spray.
Bake 1 hour 45 min. or until toothpick inserted in centers comes out clean. Cool completely in pans on wire rack. Remove cakes from pans.
Beat cream cheese, butter and sugar in bowl with mixer until blended. Spread over tops of loaves. Sprinkle with nuts.
Prepare using a chocolate cake mix.
Substitute 2 cups of your favorite nuts for 2 cups of the mixed dried fruit to add a little crunch to your fruit cake.
Substitute 3-3/4 cups pre-cut dried fruit bits for the 4 cups dried fruit bits.
