Once again, slow cookers prove they rock when it comes to making savory, slow-simmered beef stews. Our hearty version has sweet potatoes and golden beets.
What You Need
Original recipe yields 6 servings
1 lb. boneless beef top round steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and chopped
8 oz. baby carrots, peeled
8 baby golden beet s, washed and halved
1 stalk celery, diced
1 cup pearl onion s, peeled
4 cloves garlic, peeled
8 oz. sliced mini portobello mushroom s
3 cups beef stock
3 Tbsp. A.1. Original Sauce
1 env. dry onion soup mix
2 bay leaves

Let's Make It
Place beef in a medium size bowl, add flour and toss to combine. Pour bowl contents into slow cooker.
Add all remaining ingredients to slow cooker. Set slow cooker to cook for 4 to 6 hours, depending on your slow cooker settings. Remove bay leaves before serving.
Stew can be served in a bread bowl for extra heartiness. Simply cut the top off the bread and pull out the inside bread with your fingers creating a bowl. When stew is done, ladle into the bread bowl and serve.
For easy cleanup, line slow cooker with plastic liner bag before filling with ingredients and cooking as directed.
