Original recipe yields 8 servings
3 cups elbow macaroni, uncooked
1/4 cup butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup flour
4 cups milk
1 pkg. (8 oz.) KRAFT Shredded Cheddar Cheese
1/4 cup KRAFT 100% Grated Romano Cheese
1 tsp. black pepper
1 tsp. paprika

Heat oven to 400ºF.

Cook macaroni as directed on package, omitting salt.

Meanwhile, melt butter in medium saucepan on medium heat. Add garlic; cook and stir 1 min. Stir in flour; cook 1 min., stirring constantly. Gradually whisk in milk; cook and stir 3 to 5 min. or until thickened. Add cheeses, pepper and paprika; cook and stir until cheddar is melted.

Drain pasta. Add to cheese mixture; mix lightly. Pour into 13x9-inch baking dish sprayed with cooking spray.

Bake 25 min. or until sauce is bubbly and top is golden brown.
