What You Need
Original recipe yields 8 servings
1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce
1/2 cup A.1. Original Sauce
2 Tbsp. brown sugar
1 Tbsp. dry mustard
3 Tbsp. LEA & PERRINS Worcestershire Sauce
1 Tbsp. HEINZ Apple Cider Vinegar
2 Tbsp. oil
1 small onion, finely chopped
1/2 cup finely chopped green pepper s
1 stalk celery, finely chopped
2 lb. lean ground beef
1 cup dry bread crumbs
1 carrot, finely shredded
1 egg, beaten
1/4 tsp. ground black pepper

Let's Make It
Heat oven to 350°F.
Mix first 6 ingredients until blended. Heat oil in large skillet on medium heat. Add onions, peppers and celery; cook and stir 4 to 5 min. or until crisp-tender. Spoon into large bowl. Add meat, bread crumbs, carrots, egg, black pepper and 1/2 cup tomato sauce mixture; mix just until blended.
Shape into 9x5-inch loaf in 13x9-inch pan sprayed with cooking spray; top with 1/2 cup of the remaining tomato sauce mixture.
Bake 1 hour 15 min. or until done (160°F). Serve topped with remaining tomato sauce mixture.
Keeping it Safe
Follow these safety tips when serving leftover meatloaf. If you opt for cold sandwiches, remove the meatloaf from the refrigerator just before you prepare the sandwiches, then serve them immediately. If you reheat the meatloaf, make sure that it is heated through, with an internal temperature of at least 165°F when tested in center with an instant-read thermometer.
Prepare meatloaf as directed; cool, then slice. Wrap individual portions in foil. Label, date and place in freezer-weight resealable plastic bags. When ready to serve, unwrap and microwave until heated through (160°F).
