Original recipe yields 8 servings
1 tomato, chopped
1/2 cup finely chopped onion s, divided
1 large jalapeño pepper, finely chopped
1 Tbsp. oil
4 slices OSCAR MAYER Baked Cooked Ham, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
2 cans (15.5 oz. each) black beans, rinsed
4 bolillo s, split
1 pkg. (8 oz.) KRAFT Mexican Style Shredded Four Cheese with a TOUCH OF PHILADELPHIA

Heat oven to 350ºF.

Combine tomatoes, 1/4 cup onions and peppers. Heat oil in large skillet on medium heat. Add ham, garlic and remaining onions; cook and stir 3 min. Stir in beans; cook 5 min. or until heated through, stirring occasionally while mashing beans with back of spoon.

Place bolillos, cut sides up, on baking sheet. Spread with bean mixture; sprinkle with cheese.

Bake 5 min. or until cheese is melted. Top with tomato mixture.

For an extra-spicy salsa, add 1/4 cup chopped jarred pickled jalapeños and carrots to tomato mixture.
