It's just plain mean to ask people to choose between a nutty pear crisp and a nutty apple crisp. We say: Give 'em both!

1 pear, sliced
1 apple, sliced
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 pkg. (6 oz.) PLANTERS Trail Mix Fruit & Nut Mix
25 vanilla wafers, coarsely chopped (about 2 cups)
2 Tbsp. butter, melted

Heat oven to 400°F.

Toss fruit with the sugar and cinnamon. Spread into 9-inch square baking pan; top with trail mix.

Combine chopped wafers and butter; sprinkle over fruit mixture in pan.

Bake 25 to 30 min. or until crumb mixture is lightly browned and fruit is tender.

How to Core Apples & Pears
Cut whole apples or pears into quarters. Use a paring knife to cut away core and seeds from each quarter, starting at the stem end and cutting downward in a semi-circular motion.

To minimize browning in cut-up apples, pears or bananas, toss the fruit with orange juice or juice from canned pineapple. Or, dip fruit into 1 quart of cold water mixed with 3 Tbsp. lemon juice; pat dry with paper towels.
