What You Need
Original recipe yields 24 servings
30 vanilla wafers, crushed
3 Tbsp. butter or margarine, melted
25 KRAFT Caramels
1 Tbsp. water
1 cup chopped PLANTERS Almonds, toasted
2 pkg. (4 oz. each) BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate
1-1/2 cups thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping

Line 8-inch square pan with foil, with foil extending over side of pan. Combine wafer crumbs and butter; press onto bottom of prepared pan.
Place caramels and water in medium microwaveable bowl; microwave on HIGH 2-1/2 to 3 min. or until caramels are melted, stirring after each minute. Stir in nuts. Spoon over crust. Refrigerate until ready to use.
Microwave chocolate in medium microwaveable bowl on HIGH 1 to 1-1/2 min. or until almost melted, stirring every 30 sec. Stir until chocolate is completely melted. Stir in COOL WHIP. Spread over caramel mixture in pan. Refrigerate 1 hour.
Prepare using PLANTERS Walnuts.
