Serve up some great Tex-Mex flavor with this roast tomato salsa dip. Roast Tomato Salsa Dip & Chips is great served with cheese and crispy tortilla chips.
What You Need
Original recipe yields 24 servings
10 plum tomatoes, cut in half, seeded
1 red onion, quartered
1 jalapeño pepper, stemmed
3 cloves garlic, peeled
2 Tbsp. olive oil
1/3 cup chopped fresh cilantro
1/2 tsp. sugar
24 corn tortillas (6 inch)
2 Tbsp. KRAFT Sun Dried Tomato Vinaigrette Dressing made with Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1/2 cup KRAFT Shredded Mozzarella Cheese with a TOUCH OF PHILADELPHIA

Place tomatoes, cut sides down, on foil-covered rimmed baking sheet. Add onions, pepper and garlic; drizzle with oil. Broil, 4 inches from heat, 6 to 8 min. or until vegetables are evenly blackened. Cool 10 min.
Use small sharp knife to peel blackened skins off roasted vegetables; discard skins. Place vegetables and garlic in food processor; process with pulsing action until coarsely chopped. Add cilantro and sugar; pulse until blended. Spoon into bowl. Refrigerate 2 hours.
Meanwhile, heat oven to 400ºF. Cut each tortilla into 4 wedges; place in single layer on baking sheet sprayed with cooking spray. Brush dressing evenly onto both sides of tortilla pieces. Bake 10 min. or until crisp, turning after 5 min. Cool.
Heat broiler. Spoon tomato mixture into shallow ovenproof dish; sprinkle with cheese. Broil, 6 inches from heat, 2 to 3 min. or until cheese is melted. Serve with tortilla chips.
Sprinkle with thinly sliced green onions just before serving.
This fresh tomato salsa can be prepared ahead of time. Refrigerate up to 24 hours before using as directed.
