Mandarin oranges, whipped topping and a few ingredients you may already have on hand all lead up to quite a tasty treat.
What You Need
Original recipe yields 12 servings
1 can (15 oz.) mandarin oranges, undrained
3 pkg. (3 oz. each) JELL-O Orange Flavor Gelatin, divided
1 can (14 oz.) sweetened condensed milk
1 can (12 oz.) evaporated milk
1 cup BREAKSTONE'S or KNUDSEN Sour Cream
1 cup boiling water
1 cup cold water
6 drained maraschino cherries, halved
1-1/2 cups thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping

Drain oranges, reserving juice. Pour juice into saucepan; bring to boil. Combine 2 pkg. gelatin mix in medium bowl. Add juice; stir 2 min. until gelatin is completely dissolved.) (Gelatin will be thick.)
Blend milks and sour cream in blender until smooth. Add 1 cup milk mixture to dissolved gelatin; stir until blended. Add to remaining milk mixture in blender; blend until smooth. Pour into 12 custard cups or parfait glasses, adding about 1/3 cup to each.
Refrigerate 30 min. or until firm. Meanwhile, add boiling water to remaining gelatin mix in medium bowl; stir 2 min. until completely dissolved. Add cold water; stir. Cool.
Arrange oranges and cherries over desserts; cover with plain cooled gelatin. Refrigerate 1 hour or until firm. Serve topped with COOL WHIP.
Use 1 pkg. (3 oz.) JELL-O SIMPLY GOOD Orange Tangerine Flavor Gelatin.
Prepare using your favorite combination of JELL-O Gelatin and fresh or canned fruit. Be sure not to use fresh or frozen pineapple, kiwi, gingerroot, papaya, figs or guava or your gelatin will not set because of an enzyme in those fruits.
