Original recipe yields 4 servings
2 cups penne pasta, uncooked
6-1/2 oz. (1/2 of 13-oz. pkg.) OSCAR MAYER Natural Uncured Roasted Peppers & Onions Sausage
1-1/2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms
1-1/2 cups CLASSICO Tomato and Basil Pasta Sauce
3/4 cup KRAFT Shredded Mozzarella Cheese with a TOUCH OF PHILADELPHIA
1 Tbsp. thinly sliced fresh basil

Cook pasta as directed on package, omitting salt.
Meanwhile, cut sausage lengthwise in half, then crosswise into thin slices; cook with mushrooms in large nonstick skillet on medium-high heat 5 min. or until sausage is lightly browned, stirring occasionally.
Drain pasta. Add to skillet along with the pasta sauce; stir. Sprinkle with mozzarella; cover. Cook on medium heat 10 min. or until mozzarella is melted. Sprinkle with basil.
Prepare using regular KRAFT Shredded Mozzarella Cheese.
Garnish with chopped fresh basil before serving and/or add 1/2 cup POLLY-O Ricotta Cheese to cooked sausage mixture in skillet along with the drained pasta and pasta sauce.
