We like most dishes that are baked until hot and bubbly—and this cinnamon-spiced Apple-Pecan Bread Pudding is no exception.

Original recipe yields 12 servings
6 cups challah bread cubes (1 inch)
3 Granny Smith apple s, chopped
1 cup chopped PLANTERS Pecans
1/3 cup raisins
2 pkg. (3 oz. each) JELL-O Vanilla Flavor Cook & Serve Pudding
2 tsp. ground cinnamon, divided
1 qt. (4 cups) cold milk
1-1/2 cups thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping

Heat oven to 350°F.

Toss bread with apples, nuts and raisins; place in 13x9-inch baking pan sprayed with cooking spray.

Beat pudding mixes, 1 tsp. cinnamon and milk in large bowl with whisk 2 min. Pour over bread mixture; sprinkle with remaining cinnamon.

Bake 50 min. to 1 hour or until hot and bubbly. Let stand 10 min. before serving. Top with COOL WHIP.

Substitute dried cranberries or cherries for the pecans.
Apple Varieties
Look for apples that are firm and well colored with smooth, blemish-free skins. Choose the variety that best suits your needs. All-purpose apples for both eating raw and cooking uses include Cortland, Granny Smith, Jonathan, Fuji, Gravenstein, Empire, Jonagold, McIntosh, Pippin, Spy and Winesap. Best snacking and salad apples are Gala, Golden Delicious and Red Delicious. When cooking, use Rhode Island Greening, Rome Beauty or York Imperial.
