There's a reason you rarely see blue and green food coloring in layered JELL-O desserts. Unless, of course, you're making something for Halloween!
What You Need
Original recipe yields 10 servings
3-1/2 cups boiling water, divided
4 pkg. (3 oz. each) JELL-O Orange Flavor Gelatin, divided
1/2 cup cold water
2 tsp. orange zest, divided
4 drops each blue and green food coloring
2 cups thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping

Let's Make It
Add 1 cup boiling water to 2 pkg. gelatin mix in large bowl; stir 2 min. until completely dissolved. Add enough ice to cold water to measure 1 cup. Add to dissolved gelatin with 1 tsp. orange zest and food colorings; stir until ice is melted. Pour into 13x9-inch pan sprayed with cooking spray. Refrigerate 1 hour or until gelatin is set but not firm.
Meanwhile, add remaining boiling water to remaining gelatin mixes in medium bowl; stir 2 min. until completely dissolved. Stir in COOL WHIP and remaining zest. Refrigerate 15 min. or until completely cooled; whisk until blended. Pour over black gelatin layer in pan.
Refrigerate 3 hours or until firm. Cut into small squares to serve.
Use 1 pkg. (3 oz.) JELL-O SIMPLY GOOD Orange Tangerine Flavor Gelatin.
