What You Need
Original recipe yields 8 servings
1/4 cup oil
5 cups ORE-IDA Shredded Hash Brown Potatoes
1 onion, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 lb. ground beef
1-1/2 cups frozen mixed vegetables (carrots, corn, green beans, peas)
1 can (15 oz.) tomato sauce
1-1/2 cups KRAFT Shredded Mozzarella Cheese

Heat oven to 350°F.
Heat oil in large skillet on medium heat. Add potatoes, onions and garlic; cook 5 to 7 min. or until potatoes are golden brown, stirring occasionally. Spoon into medium bowl; set aside.
Brown meat in same skillet; drain. Add frozen vegetables and tomato sauce; mix well. Cook 3 to 5 min. or until heated through, stirring frequently.
Layer half each of the potato mixture, meat mixture and cheese in 9-inch square baking dish sprayed with cooking spray. Repeat layers.
Bake 20 to 25 min. or until heated through.
Prepare using your favorite blend of frozen mixed vegetables.
Substitute a 1-1/2-qt. casserole for the 9-inch baking dish.
