Pork chops with applesauce is a classic. But this one, made with a tart cooking apple, cinnamon and a touch of honey, is bound to become a new favorite!
What You Need
Original recipe yields 6 servings
1 jar (12 oz.) HEINZ HomeStyle Pork Gravy
1/2 cup raisins
1 Tbsp. honey
1-1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
dash ground allspice
2 Tbsp. oil
6 small boneless pork chop s (1-1/2 lb.), 1/2 inch thick
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1 Granny Smith apple, cut into thin slices
3 cups hot cooked long-grain white rice

Combine gravy, raisins, honey and spices.
Heat oil in large skillet on medium-high heat. Add chops; cook 1 min. on each side or until lightly browned on both sides. Season with pepper.
Pour gravy mixture over chops; cover. Cook on medium heat 10 to 15 min. or until chops are done (145ºF). Transfer chops to platter, reserving gravy mixture in skillet. Cover chops to keep warm.
Add apples to gravy mixture; stir. Cook, covered, 5 min. or until apples are tender, stirring occasionally. Spoon gravy mixture over chops. Serve with rice.
Substitute dried cranberries for the raisins.
