Original recipe yields 10 servings
1 lb. lean ground beef
1 env. WYLER’S MRS. GRASS Onion Soup Mix
1/3 cup dry Italian-style bread crumbs
2 Tbsp. finely chopped green peppers
1 jar (12 oz.) HEINZ HomeStyle Savory Beef Gravy, divided
1 can (14.5 oz.) petite diced tomatoes, undrained
1 Tbsp. sugar

Mix meat, soup mix, bread crumbs, peppers and 1/4 cup gravy just until blended; shape into 30 (1-inch) meatballs.

Cook in large nonstick skillet on medium heat 10 to 15 min. or until done (160ºF), turning occasionally.

Meanwhile, bring tomatoes, sugar and remaining gravy to boil in saucepan on medium heat, stirring frequently. Simmer on medium-low heat 5 min., stirring occasionally.

Add tomato mixture to meatballs; stir. Cook 5 min., stirring occasionally.

Use Your Oven
To bake the meatballs instead of cooking them on top of the stove, heat oven to 400ºF. Place meatballs on rimmed baking sheet sprayed with cooking spray. Bake 15 to 20 min. or until done (160ºF). While meatballs are baking, cook the tomato sauce as directed except use a large saucepan. When meatballs are done, add them to the sauce, then continue as directed.
