What You Need
Original recipe yields 3 servings
6 slices whole wheat sandwich bread
1/4 cup CLASSICO Sun-Dried Tomato Pesto Sauce and Spread
6 KRAFT Havarti Cheese Slice s
1/2 cup thin cremini mushroom slices
1 cup tightly packed baby spinach leaves
1/3 cup drained roasted red pepper strips, chopped

Spray electric waffle iron with cooking spray. Heat iron to medium heat.
Spread bread slices with pesto sauce. Place 1 cheese slice on each of 3 bread slices. Top with mushrooms, spinach and peppers; cover with remaining cheese and bread slices to make 3 sandwiches.
Place 1 sandwich on grid of waffle iron; close lid. Cook 2 to 3 min. or until sandwich is golden brown and cheese is melted. Transfer to plate. Repeat with remaining sandwiches.
For flavor and texture variety, prepare sandwiches with different types of bread. Try honey wheat, multi-grain, rustic rye, pumpernickel, challah, focaccia or country sourdough.
