Mandarin oranges, Granny Smith apples and a hint of cinnamon enliven this dessert. Our Upside-Down Orange-Apple Cake is the perfect choice for a party.

Original recipe yields 16 servings
1 can (11 oz.) mandarin oranges, undrained
2 Granny Smith apple s, cut into thin slices
2 pkg. (3 oz. each) JELL-O Lemon Flavor Gelatin
1 pkg. (2-layer size) white cake mix
2 egg s
1/3 cup oil
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. orange zest

Heat oven to 350°F.

Drain liquid from oranges, reserving liquid. Add enough water to reserved liquid to measure 1-1/4 cups: reserve for later use. Arrange apple slices and orange segments on bottom of 13x9-inch baking dish sprayed with cooking spray. Sprinkle evenly with dry gelatin mixes.

Beat cake mix, eggs, oil, cinnamon, orange zest and reserved liquid in large bowl with mixer until blended; pour over ingredients in baking dish.

Bake 40 to 45 min. or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 min. Place serving platter over cake; invert cake. Gently remove baking dish. Serve cake warm.
