Let's Make It
Heat oven to 450°F.
Mix flour, baking powder and salt in large bowl. Cut in butter with pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add milk; stir with fork until mixture forms soft dough.
Knead on lightly floured surface 20 times or until smooth. Roll out dough to 1/2-inch thickness. Cut into circles with floured 3-inch biscuit cutter, rerolling dough scraps as necessary. Place on baking sheet.
Bake 10 to 12 min. or until golden brown. Meanwhile, crumble sausage into large skillet. Cook on medium-high heat 5 to 7 min. or until done. Heat gravy in small saucepan until heated through.
Cut biscuits in half horizontally. Spoon sausage onto bottoms of biscuits; cover with gravy. Top with remaining biscuit halves.
Serve with a side of fresh fruit.
Substitute shortening for the butter.
If using a 2-inch cutter, cut out 16 biscuits. Bake as directed. Makes 8 servings, 2 biscuits each.
