Original recipe yields 24 servings
1 cup flour
1 cup old-fashioned or quick-cooking oats
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
6 oz. (1/2 of 12-oz. pkg.) BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
1/2 cup chopped PLANTERS Almonds, toasted

Heat oven to 375°F.

Combine flour, oats, baking soda and pumpkin pie spice. Beat butter and sugars in large bowl with mixer until blended. Add egg; mix well. Gradually beat in flour mixture until well blended. Stir in chocolate and nuts.

Drop level tablespoonfuls of dough, 2 inches apart, onto baking sheets.

Bake 9 min. or until lightly browned. Cool on baking sheet 2 min. Remove to wire racks; cool completely.

How to Toast Nuts
Toasting nuts adds crunch and intensifies their flavor. To toast nuts in the oven, spread nuts in single layer in shallow baking pan. Bake at 350°F for 8 to 10 min. or until golden brown, stirring occasionally. To toast nuts on the stovetop, place nuts in ungreased skillet. Cook on medium heat until golden brown, stirring frequently. To toast nuts in the microwave, place up to 1 cup of nuts in a microwaveable shallow dish. Microwave on HIGH until fragrant and crisp, stirring every 30 sec.
