Kitchen Tips
Tip 1
Crunchy Honey Baked Ham
Substitute 1/3 cup granulated sugar for the honey. Mix all ingredients except ham until blended. Heat ham as directed on package. Remove from oven; let stand 10 min. Stand ham up, bone-side down, on heatproof platter. Pack sugar mixture around ham. Wave culinary hand-held blow torch with medium flame over the ham with rapid movements until sugar mixture bubbles and browns, but does not burn. Turn ham as needed to get full coverage.
Tip 2
Note
Some hams come with a packet of glaze. Discard or save that packet for another use.
Tip 3
How to Bake a Fully Cooked Ham
Bake a fully-cooked ham at 325°F until meat thermometer registers 140°F, allowing 12 to 15 min. per pound. Glaze as directed. Transfer ham to cutting board; cover loosely with foil. Let stand 10 to 15 min. before carving.
