What You Need
Original recipe yields 19 servings
1-1/4 cups flour
1 tsp. CALUMET Baking Powder
1/2 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup drained maraschino cherries with 2 Tbsp. juice reserved, divided
1/2 cup PLANTERS Slivered Almonds, toasted
2 oz. BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate

Let's Make It
Heat oven to 350°F.
Combine flour and baking powder. Beat butter and sugar in large bowl with mixer until light and fluffy. Add egg and cherry juice; mix well. Gradually add flour mixture, mixing well after each addition.
Chop cherries coarsely. Add to cookie dough along with the nuts; mix well.
Drop tablespoonfuls of dough, 1 inch apart, into 38 mounds on baking sheets sprayed with cooking spray.
Bake 8 to 9 min. or until edges are lightly browned. Cool on baking sheets 1 min. Remove to wire racks; cool completely.
Melt chocolate as directed on package; drizzle over cookies. Let stand until firm.
