Pull these simple Popovers out of the oven and enjoy them while they're warm! Baking doesn't have to be intimidating when you have this Popovers recipe.

Original recipe yields 6 servings
1 Tbsp. butter-flavor shortening
1 cup white whole wheat flour
1/4 cup KRAFT 100% Grated Parmesan and Romano Cheese
1/4 tsp. dried Italian seasoning
2 egg s, beaten
1 cup milk
1 Tbsp. olive oil

Heat oven to 400°F.

Grease bottom and sides of 6 popover pan cups using shortening. Mix flour, cheese and Italian seasoning in medium bowl.

Beat eggs, milk and oil with whisk in medium bowl until blended. Add flour mixture; whisk until smooth. Spoon into prepared cups, filling each cup half full.

Bake 40 min. or until very firm. Remove from oven; immediately prick each popover with fork to let steam escape. Serve hot.

Variation
Substitute 6 (6-oz.) custard cups for the popover pan. Place greased custard cups in 15x10x1-inch pan.
Tip 2
For Crisper Popovers
After baking, prick popovers as directed; return to oven. Turn oven off; leave popovers in oven 5 to 10 min. or until of desired crispness.
