Original recipe yields 16 servings
2/3 cup packed brown sugar, divided
1-1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon, divided
2 Granny Smith apples, peeled, chopped
1/3 cup plus 2 Tbsp. granulated sugar, divided
1-1/2 cups flour
1-3/4 tsp. CALUMET Baking Powder
1/2 cup butter, softened
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup milk
2 oz. (1/4 of 8-oz. pkg.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
1/4 tsp. zest and 1 Tbsp. juice from 1 lemon
1/2 cup powdered sugar

Heat oven to 350°F.

Combine 1/3 cup brown sugar and 1 tsp. cinnamon. Toss apples with remaining cinnamon and 2 Tbsp. of the granulated sugar. Combine flour and baking powder.

Beat butter with remaining sugars in large bowl with mixer until light and fluffy. Add eggs, 1 at a time, mixing well after each addition. Blend in vanilla. Gradually beat in milk, then flour mixture.

Pour half the batter into greased and floured 9x5-inch loaf pan; top with apple mixture, then half the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Press apples gently into batter in pan with back of spoon. Cover with remaining batter; sprinkle with remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture. Use tip of knife to gently swirl cinnamon-sugar mixture into top layer of batter.

Bake 50 min. to 1 hour or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 min. Remove bread from pan to wire rack. Cool additional 15 min.

Mix cream cheese, lemon zest and juice in medium bowl until blended. Whisk in powdered sugar. Drizzle over bread.
