Original recipe yields 24 servings
3 cups flour, divided
2 tsp. CALUMET Baking Powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
2/3 cup packed brown sugar, divided
3 eggs
1 cup BREAKSTONE'S or KNUDSEN Sour Cream
1 tsp. almond extract
1 cup chopped PLANTERS Slivered Almonds
1-1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
3 cups chopped rhubarb

Heat oven to 350°F.

Combine 2-1/2 cups flour, baking powder and baking soda. Beat butter, granulated sugar and 1/3 cup brown sugar in large bowl with mixer until light and fluffy. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually add flour mixture alternately with sour cream, mixing well after each addition. Blend in almond extract.

Mix nuts, cinnamon and remaining flour until blended; toss with rhubarb until evenly coated.

Pour half the cake batter into greased and floured 12-cup fluted tube pan or 10-inch tube pan; top with half the rhubarb mixture. Repeat layers.

Bake 55 min. to 1 hour or until toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. Cool cake in pan 10 min. Loosen cake from sides of pan with knife. Invert cake onto wire rack; gently remove pan. Cool cake completely.

How to Bake Cake in 13x9-Inch Pan
Prepare recipe as directed, except bake the cake in a prepared 13x9-inch pan and reduce the baking time to 30 to 35 min. or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Do not remove cake from pan before serving.
