What You Need
Original recipe yields 6 servings
2 Tbsp. butter
2 green onions
4 slices OSCAR MAYER Bacon
1/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp. CALUMET Baking Powder
1-1/2 cups KRAFT Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese with a TOUCH OF PHILADELPHIA
1 cup BREAKSTONE'S or KNUDSEN Cottage Cheese

Heat oven to 350°F.
Place butter in 9-inch pie plate; place in oven while preheating the oven. Slice onions, keeping white and green slices separated.
Cook bacon in large skillet as directed on package. Remove from skillet; drain on paper towels. Discard all but 1 tsp. drippings from skillet. Add white onion slices to reserved drippings; cook and stir 2 min. or until crisp-tender. Remove from heat.
Beat eggs, flour and baking powder in large bowl with mixer on high speed until blended. Crumble bacon. Add to egg mixture along with the cheeses and cooked white onions; stir until blended.
Remove pie plate from oven; carefully swirl pie plate to evenly coat bottom and side with butter. Add egg mixture.
Bake 30 to 35 min. or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Sprinkle with reserved sliced green onions. Cut into wedges to serve.
For a smoother texture, blend eggs, flour, baking powder and cottage cheese in blender until smooth; pour into bowl. Stir in cheddar, crumbled cooked bacon and sliced white onions. Pour into prepared pie plate. Continue as directed.
Mini Appetizer Egg Puffs
Brush melted butter evenly onto bottoms and up sides of 12 muffin pan cups. Place in oven while preheating the oven. Prepare egg mixture as directed; spoon evenly into muffin cups. Bake 25 to 30 min. or until knife inserted into centers comes out clean. Run knife around edges of muffin cups to loosen Egg Puffs; remove from pan. Sprinkle with reserved green onion slices. Makes 12 servings.
