Pour root beer and 1/2 cup barbecue sauce over meat in slow cooker sprayed with cooking spray. Cover with lid. Cook on LOW 8 to 10 hours (or on HIGH 4 to 5 hours).
Transfer meat to cutting board, reserving sauce in slow cooker. Pour 1 cup of the reserved sauce into medium saucepan; stir in pepper. Discard remaining sauce. Pull meat into shreds with 2 forks. Return meat to slow cooker; cover to keep warm
Cook reserved sauce mixture on medium heat until reduced to 2 Tbsp., stirring frequently Stir in remaining barbecue sauce; simmer on medium-low heat 5 min., stirring occasionally. Add to meat; stir to evenly coat meat with sauce.
Fill buns with meat mixture just before serving.
Serve with a mixed green salad and your favorite fresh fruit to round out the meal.
Prepare using your favorite flavor of KRAFT or BULL'S-EYE Barbecue Sauce, or favorite flavor of HEINZ BBQ Sauce.
