Strawberry Hulling Hack
For a fun and easy way to hull strawberries, try this hulling hack. First, rinse the strawberries in cold water and dry. Next, remove the leaves from the strawberry tops. Finally, push a plastic drinking straw through the bottom of each strawberry until it pokes through the top, removing the hull with it. Check out this video for more information.
Prepare using thawed frozen strawberries. Mash, then drain well in a fine-mesh strainer before using as directed.
Makes enough to frost top and sides of 2 (8- or 9-inch) layers; top and sides of 13x9-inch cake; tops of 3 (8- or 9-inch) layers; or 18 to 24 cupcakes.
